Training

What; Why; How; When

  • What
A modular scheme for leaders to give them the tools to provide ‘Good Scouting’, to build on existing skills and knowledge and develop new competencies.
  • Why
To ensure that young people experience good quality Scouting. The Scout Association requires each adult in Scouting to demonstrate a range of knowledge, skills and attitudes that are relevant to their Scouting role.
  • How
There are 2 elements to the Adult Training Scheme.
Learning – When you have the opportunity to gain or improve the knowledge and skills that you need for your role.
Validation – When your Training Adviser will check that you can apply what you have learnt to your role. Validation is essential for every module.
